Agnanta is one of the largest villages in Tzoumerka, located next to Katarraktis and at a distance of about 50 kilometers from the city of Arta, while it is just as far from the city of Ioannina.

With an altitude of approximately 700 m., Agnanta is characterized by its numerous springs that refresh its inhabitants, as well as by the rich vegetation that embraces the village. There one can visit the preserved traditional watermill which is in operation, as well as the folklore museum, which presents elements of the old traditional life of the inhabitants. In the center of Tzoumerka (Athamanian Mountains), 45 km southeast of Ioannina and 55 kilometers northwest of Arta, in an alpine landscape at an altitude of 650 meters, the main village of Agnanta is built. It spreads out in the basin formed by the Tzoumerka and Xirovouni mountains, with its highest point at the base of the mountain and the lowest point almost touched by the Arachthos river.

Around it are other villages (Tzoumerko villages), such as Pramanta, Ktistades, Graikiko, and Katarraktis. The Agnantitikos river (a torrent that flows into the Arachthos) passes through the center of the village, dividing it into two districts. The word Agnanta is derived from the adjective "Agnantos, -i, -o," meaning "open place," from which we can observe what is happening, not only around us but also far away. Agnanta is a clustered village with dense building and an amphitheater layout.
