LOCAL TIME

Greece belongs to the Eastern European Time Zone, with local time set at GMT +2 hours.
Every last Sunday of March, clocks in Greece move forward by one hour for Daylight Saving Time, and they return to standard time on the last Sunday of October.

In order to visit Greece, you will need:

  • ID cardAn identity card, if you come from a Schengen Agreement member state, both to enter the country and to stay for up to 3 months. In this case, a passport is not required, but you will need it for other transactions, such as currency exchange, purchases, etc.  
  • Visa If you come from a country that is not a member of the Schengen Agreement. Therefore, before your trip, seek relevant information from the local Greek embassies, consulates, or travel agents*.
  • PassportIf you come from one of the following non-European Union countries. Your passport allows you to visit the country or stay for up to 3 months within a 6-month period.
