In recent years, the Arta Runners Association, in collaboration with the Arta Mountaineering Club, took the initiative and voluntarily began cleaning and marking the trails of Peranthis Hill in Arta, to ensure easy and safe access.
The two associations, recognizing the great need people have developed recently due to the pandemic for an outlet through sports and contact with nature, initially volunteered to clean the forgotten trail that had been constructed about 40 years ago on Peranthis Hill.

Subsequently, new trails were opened on Peranthis Hill in Arta, which were connected to the old trail, creating a network of approximately 9 kilometers. All trails are marked and mapped to ensure safe and easy use for every visitor.
From a technical standpoint, the trail is considered easy, as the hill’s elevation reaches 218 meters, offering a pleasant and gentle hiking experience within the nature of Arta.

Each trail user can choose the route and distance they wish to cover, as well as the scenery they enjoy most. They can walk through the forest of cypresses and pines or follow the path with panoramic views of the city.
On September 26, 2021, the 1st Arta City Trail took place, organized by the Arta Runners Association. This event provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the natural and aesthetic wealth of the hill, which was highlighted following the voluntary efforts of the associations.

Highlighting a landscape of such significant environmental and aesthetic value within Peranthis Hill in Arta serves as a hub for recreation, training, entertainment, and sports in nature, both for the residents of Arta and for visitors seeking hiking experiences and contact with the environment.
